Themes
Yearbook themes are what unify the book from front page to back. It is carried throughout the verbal and visual design.
The theme is more than just the title - it is a concept that sets the tone of the book.
If you can, set a consistent design which feels connected. The book should not feel like a random collection of pages. The theme gives a specific reason for the design to appear the way it does.
The theme can be carried through elements such as:
- fonts
- colours
- styles
- use of pictures - eg picture frames, angles
- section titles
- language used
Example - Fairvale High School Class of 2006
