Gordon West Public School
The Gazette is the yearbook of Gordon West Public School, a K-6 primary school located in Sydney's Northern Suburbs. For many years, a dynamic duo of teachers Gita and Di have co-edited their publication.
Mastering challenges.
How do full-time teachers design and manage yearbook projects? The answer is with patience, dedication and persistence. Having designed the yearbook themselves in past years, Gita and Di upgraded to Adobe InDesign, and took the challenge of being non-techies learning with experience. They've since never looked back!
The solution = Design it Yourself
Since 2006, Gordon West Public School has selected Rockstar's Design it Yourself program. With a little Rockstar direction, Gita and Di have designed The Gazette using Adobe InDesign. Their Rockstar Yearbook Consultant has assisted with in-person training and telephone support, guiding through aspects such as:
- instructions on publication set-up
- file management
- using bleed
- file management
- workflow tips
These services are provided free of charge to all clients on the Design it Yourself program.
Fantastic results.
Each year, Gita and Di's hard work turns into another warmly received edition of The Gazette. Featuring hundreds of photos of smiling faces, 2008's edition was over 140 custom-designed pages. Printed by Rockstar with a 300gsm matte celloglazed cover, with 130gsm matte inside pages, The Gazette looks and feels fantastic!
Congratulations and thanks to Gita and Di for all their hard work and dedication over the years!
